About Our Service

Ultimate Athens Adventures provides outdoor walking experiences in Athens, Greece. Our experiences are led by George, an experienced tour leader who has lived in Athens for over 21 years.

By participating in any of our walking experiences or using our website (ultimateathenstours.com), you agree to these terms and conditions.

Nature of Service

Ultimate Athens Adventures operates as a tour leader service offering outdoor walking experiences. George is a tour leader (Synodos) who accompanies groups on walking routes through Athens. This is not a licensed tour guide (Xenagos) service under Greek Law 710/1977.

Our walking experiences focus on outdoor adventure, fitness, and discovering Athens from elevated vantage points. They are not narrated museum or archaeological site tours.

Bookings and Payments

All bookings and payments are processed through third-party platforms:

• Airbnb Experiences
• GetYourGuide
• Viator

Ultimate Athens Adventures does not process payments directly. All transactions, refunds, and cancellations related to bookings are governed by the terms and conditions of the platform through which you booked. Please refer to the relevant platform's policies for details on:

• Cancellation and refund policies
• Payment processing and security
• Booking modifications

Physical Activity and Fitness

Our walking experiences involve moderate to strenuous physical activity, including:

• Walking distances of 4 to 12 kilometres
• Elevation gains of 150 to 500 metres
• Uneven terrain, stone paths, and steep inclines
• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, sun, and wind

A reasonable level of fitness is essential. Participants should be able to walk for extended periods on uneven ground and handle inclines comfortably. If you have any medical conditions, injuries, or concerns about your ability to participate, please contact us before booking.

By joining a walking experience, you confirm that you are physically capable of participating and accept the inherent risks associated with outdoor physical activity.

Weather and Cancellations

Our experiences operate year-round in all reasonable weather conditions. However:

• Light rain: Experiences proceed as scheduled.
• Heavy rain, storms, or unsafe conditions: We may reschedule or cancel the experience. In this case, we will offer an alternative date or a full refund through the booking platform.

Participants will be notified of any weather-related changes via email at least 2 hours before the scheduled start time where possible.

What to Bring

Participants are responsible for bringing:

• Comfortable walking shoes with good grip
• Water (a refillable bottle is recommended)
• Sun protection in warmer months (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
• Appropriate clothing for the season and conditions

We reserve the right to exclude any participant whose footwear or equipment is unsuitable for safe participation.

Group Size and Conduct

Maximum group size is 10 participants. We maintain small groups to ensure a quality experience and safe conditions.

Participants are expected to:

• Follow the tour leader's instructions, particularly regarding safety
• Respect other group members and the environment
• Stay with the group throughout the experience
• Not consume alcohol or drugs before or during the experience

We reserve the right to remove any participant whose behaviour endangers themselves, other participants, or the group. No refund will be provided in such cases.

Photography and Media

Our tour leader may take photographs during the experience for promotional use on our website, social media, and marketing materials. By participating, you consent to being photographed and to the use of those images.

If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform the tour leader at the start of the experience and we will respect your preference.

Assumption of Risk

Outdoor walking experiences carry inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Slips, trips, and falls on uneven or rocky terrain
• Heat-related illness, sunburn, or dehydration
• Insect bites or contact with plants
• Injury from uneven surfaces or steep paths

By participating, you acknowledge and accept these risks. Ultimate Athens Adventures takes reasonable precautions to ensure participant safety, but cannot eliminate all risks associated with outdoor activities.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ultimate Athens Adventures and its tour leader shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in our experiences.

Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to our services shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific experience in question.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
